The challenge

Make availability visible.

As part of a university project, our team worked on problems proposed by RTBF. We imagined CUDI, the “availability cube”: a physical object that shows at a glance whether someone is available. My main role in the team was innovation.

The approach

From the question
to the object.

01

Understand.

Start from a real situation and reframe the problem set by RTBF.

02

Give it shape.

The idea was to turn information that is often implicit into a tangible signal people can understand without a long explanation. Sketches, renderings and a prototype helped us test the form of that response.

03

Put it to the test.

This work let me practise very concrete innovation: start with a lived situation, reframe the problem and materialise a solution that can be shown and discussed.

What I learned

Innovation
is tested.

An idea grows stronger when it is drawn, made, tested in use and improved. That logic also informs how I develop WOAW and support other projects.
